Leaf Mulching & Removal

Don’t let leaves take over your lawn. We mulch them, move them, or haul them away.

When Leaves Win, Lawns Lose

When leaves pile up and sit on your grass, they block sunlight, trap moisture, and create a mat that can smother your lawn. Left long enough, it can cause thin, dead patches and invite fungus and pests.

The good news? You don’t have to fight it alone. The Lawn Mafia offers:

  • Leaf mulching – finely chop leaves into the turf as a natural top-dress
  • Raking and piling – move leaves to a location you choose on your property
  • Bagging and haul-off – full clean-up and removal from your site

We’ll look at your property and recommend the most efficient (and cost-effective) way to get your yard back under control.

Service Options

From simple mulching to full clean-up and removal, you pick what fits your property and budget.

Leaf Mulching
Chop in Place

Using commercial mowers, we chop leaves into fine pieces and blend them back into the turf. This is often the most cost-effective option and can add organic material back into the soil when done at the right time and thickness.

Rake & Pile
On-Property Relocation

We gather leaves from the lawn, beds, and accessible areas and move them to a location you choose on your property — such as a tree line, compost area, or designated burn pile. No bags to buy, no hauling to worry about.

Bag & Haul-Off
Full Removal

For customers who want leaves completely gone, we can bag and haul them off-site. This option involves extra time, bags, and disposal fees, but leaves the property as clean as possible when we’re done.

Typical Pricing

Pricing depends on volume, access, and whether we’re mulching, piling, or hauling off.

Light to Moderate Leaves
Mulching or Quick Clean-Ups

Yards with a noticeable but manageable layer of leaves can often be handled with mulching only or a quick rake and pile. This is usually the most budget-friendly option and can often be combined with your regular mowing visit.

Heavy Coverage
Multiple Passes

Lawns that are heavily covered may require multiple passes, partial mulching, and movement of excess leaves to piles. We’ll walk the property and quote based on the actual volume and complexity before starting.

Full Haul-Off Jobs
Bagging & Disposal

When we’re bagging and hauling, the price reflects labor, bagging time, and disposal fees. We’ll give you a clear, up-front quote so you know the total before we begin.

Every property is different — size of the yard, number of trees, how long the leaves have been sitting, and how “perfect” you want it when we’re finished all factor into the price. We’re happy to talk through options to find a level of clean-up that works for you.

Beyond the Yard

We can do more than just the open lawn areas.

Flower Beds & Shrub Areas

Leaves tend to pack into flower beds and around shrubs. We can blow out, rake, and tidy up these areas so they’re not harboring moisture and pests right against your plants and foundation.

Fences, Corners & Nooks

Fence lines and corners are natural catch points for leaves. We can clean these up as part of your visit so the entire property looks intentional, not just the open grassy spots.

Ditches & Drainage

In some cases, we can help clear leaves from shallow ditches and drainage paths so water can flow better. We’ll let you know what we can safely handle and what may need different equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions

How leaf work ties into the rest of your lawn care.

Is mulching leaves bad for my lawn?

Done right, mulching is actually good for your lawn. The key is not letting an excessive layer build up. We chop leaves into small pieces so they can break down instead of smothering the grass.

Do I have to do haul-off?

No. Many customers choose mulching or rake-and-pile only. Haul-off is there for people who want everything completely gone from the property and don’t have a place to put it.

Can you do leaf work without mowing?

Yes. We can schedule leaf-only visits, especially during heavy fall drop or after storms. In many cases, though, combining leaf work with mowing gives the best overall result and can reduce the total cost compared to separate trips.

When is the best time to call?

As soon as you notice leaves starting to blanket the yard. It’s easier (and cheaper) to keep up with them than to tackle one massive clean-up after they’ve sat all season and turned into a soggy mat.

Do you work with HOA rules?

If your neighborhood or HOA has specific rules about how leaves can be handled or where piles can go, let us know. We’ll work within the guidelines and help you stay in compliance while keeping the yard clean.

Can you add this to my regular service?

Absolutely. If you’re already a mowing customer, we can build leaf management into your fall and winter visits so you don’t have to think about it. Just tell us you want it included when we set up your service.
